Summary Awesome Twist

Pros: The story is really a change especially for a Castlevania game. It wasn't drastic either, it was just really creative and cool. Soul absorbing was really cool, and using them all is really fun. Just like Symphony of the Night the castle has two parts to it. Alucard makes an appearance, and that was really cool. You discover Julius Belmont, and can even play as him when you beat the game. There are three different endings to the game. There's one sword in the game that takes up half the screen, way cool. Just like any Castlevania game the controls are very simple and easy to use.
Cons: Just like any other Castlevania title they over use bosses from the past. The one will remind you of SOTN, just altered with one different attack. I can understand having Medussa, Death, and Frankenstein's Monster, but defeating the same thing in three versions of the series is repetative. There are no voices for any of the characters. You'll hear attack screams, getting hit grunts, and a boss will say die. Reading the entire game is old, and if you've got simple moans and sayings. Just have someone read in a microphone and audio record. There weren't alot of useful weapons in this game. Many were long and slow, powerful, but fast attacking is needed in this series. Another Castlevania trate is killing enemies to the point of getting a counting collection going. In order to get a soul from certain enemies. 50 to 70 tries later you got it, even with a luck charm and luck potion equiped. There were theese books you had to get so you could enter a Dark Realm. They were a pain to find, and searching for them got boring at times. In order to get the best ending, you needed three important souls plus the books. Yet there's no clues at all in the game that mention that. Plus there are areas in the game that you could try your best to enter. Yet getting in seemed impossible, and myself and others gave up and went on with the game. So looking online in the Game Winners walkthrough section was the answer. IGN just sucks and I didn't feel like paying $20 bucks to beat a game. Another annoying trademark of Castlevania, is you can be Julius Belmont. Pretty cool but you just beat bosses and game over. KONAMI really needs to stop doing that and put a story in. They don't really explain a whole lot on why Julius is there. So if your playing as him, add some more plot to it man. The Dark Realm for the second part was a little too difficult. If you wanted to just kill and walk through, you better be a level 90. Some of the areas design was a problem. Getting the sword that takes up half the screen and the other two items near it. BIG PAIN in the @$$. They had this guy who created a shop for items. I only went to him twice because you need to. Other than that he wasn't really worth your time.

Reviewer's Comments

Even with annoying trademarks that probably won't leave the series. Looking online on what to do, and how to get in places. The game has a wicked twist in the story, and is very enjoyable. I know the sequel to this game is coming out on the DS. I did read it might even make it to the PSP, but don't count on it knowing Nintendo. So that is going to be interesting, and well worth checking out. With the multiple endings to this game. You'll play it to see each one.
