Summary Halo......with problems

Pros: an ok start to the series, plenty of content and alot of gameplay.
Cons: needed more variety gameplay-wise, lacking replay, i loathe the health system

Halo is the start of the renowned halo series. All in all, this is a pretty good game, one of the best i've ever played on the original xbox. There are plenty of guns, vehicles, and content in the campaign, as well as some pretty good graphics for an xbox game and multiplayer. Some would even call this one of the greatest shooters there is. Well.........I BEG TO DIFFER. Where to start....... Well, i've played through all the halo games and have found this one to be the most aggrivating. There is just too many ways for you to easily die. For instance, if a covenant alien throws a grenade at u its almost impossible to survive because master cheif runs too slow. As well the marines on your side arent much help as they tend to die before they kill anything. Plus your sheilds recharge much too slowly, making ur health go down to red in seconds. This game also lacks in some ways, variety. You almost always retrace your steps, killing seemingly endless aliens of the same armor color and type, making the game get very reppetitive since almost every mission is two hours long. There is also the matter of controlling vehicles. There are planty of fun vehicles, but not without some major driving kinks.when driving a warthog(jeep) in halo, almost every time i turn the thing, it powerslides. With this in mind, accidentally sliding off a cliff will become common, either badly damaging u or killing u from the fall. Plus, when starting the warthog it gains speed very slowly, like so: what?? 5mph? but that grunt just threw a grenade near the tire...(BAM)....crap!! The game has a good storyline, but it just isnt good enough to keep me playing it that much after beating it. Bottom line a 6.5 is generous. This game is plenty of fun the first time around, and for those who r usually broke(me) or dont hav a 360, u might enjoy it. just make sure u hav alot of free time and tolerance before starting the game. combat evolved indeed.
