The Home Run Derby is fun & original. Hitting for pretermined distance at the same time as your opponent is nerve-wracking. In a good way.
Cons: The very heart of a baseball game, the Pitcher/Batter interface is flawed. Too much big hitting, and the inability to fool the computer hitter into swinging at a pitch out of the zone, pretty much ground this game before you can holla, "Play Ball!"
Even if you match a top hurler against a .200 hitter, you're gonna get pounded.

What a beautiful looking game. When I first saw it, I almost orgasmed. I thought finally EA have John Maddenized Baseball.
I soon found out I was wrong.
High Heat Baseball is still the KING of baseball games. If EA could get MVP Baseball to interface like High Heat, I'd probably never leave home.
