SummaryNot quite worth the moneyPros: The game is set in real time which is a pro and a con. You CAN'T sit down and beat the game in one sitting over a few hours because of the real-time. The story of the game is fairly unique and it moves quickly at first.
Cons: I can't even include all the cons because there are actually SO many. Real-time doesn't cut it game world when you actually have to wait REAL hours and REAL days for something important to happen. It makes game-play beyond SLOW. I like not beating a game right away, but some people like that option so it takes away from the 'fun'. In this game you have to wait 8 hours for 'rooms' to be built...you need some of these rooms to further the game....i didn't want to sit for 8 hours, so i shut the game off. That upsets me because I WANTED to play, but I felt like it was pointless because there was nothing further for me to do. The game is hard to beat, there is this character Jimmy the Neck who keeps you from going into the desert sometimes....at times even at night (which seemed to be unusual for a time)....well that means you can't complete certain goals until you figure out how to get rid of Jimmy. Which isn't exactly obvious. You also have to wait a few days for new items to appear in the shop...which again makes for pretty stilted game enjoyment.
This game is VERY repetitive.
Reviewer's Comments
I haven't even bothered beating the game yet. I got tired of it after a few weeks and stopped. It is extraordinarly repetitive. It feels like they purposfully set it up so that you would HAVE to play the game for a few weeks to a few months to beat it...which makes it sound like a must-have or a keeper...but it isn't worth playing a game that long when you have to wait for the game and not the other way around. Most games sit in my home waiting for me to pick them up and get going again...this game is the only one that I have to put down for a few hours in order to let something happen and I don't like that. If I want to play a game, I don't want to have to play it, save it, then play another game while i wait for that one to ripen...I want to play the game NOW.
