SummaryGenerally OKPros: Generally, i enjoyed the gameplay. The graphics are exceptional and the music is just as good as the first three games. You can play as Harry, Ron or Hermione, other players can also drop in with you help you along the way through the game (apart from the Triwizard tasks).
Cons: Unfortunately, you do not have the same freedom as the first three games. You are confined in environments that may be stunning, but can get very boring after a while. In the first three video games, you could choose wether to explore hogwarts castle, or go to the next event (eg. the 'end day' option). This game fails to meet these features.
As for collecting Triwizard shields enabling you to compete in the tasks, you have to enter the same level a number of times to collect any you have missed, which can get annoying.
Another disappointing factor is that the fmv sequences, are very dull, as the motion is at a minimum. And some do not like to focus on a particular part. They tend to be viewed from a distance.
The duel with voldemort is very dull indeed, he looks like a comic book cartoon, for some reason, this sequence is set during the day, as is the maze task.
Reviewer's Comments
Overall, i think EA became very lazy, although they may have wanted to approach it differently. But i think the layout of the game is very complicated, although seems straight forward. The number of levels are minimal, but are good to work through.
In my opinion, the game is quite disappointing, having completed it in two days (truthfully). If your a big big fan of the first three, please do not bother with this. Although, it is worth checking out the spell casting and environments. I would recommend renting it before you decide to buy it.
