Summary
Bloody Good Fun
Pros: :The online play is enough to keep it in your collection.
:The music is pretty good, if you like metal (and while killing stuff, who doesn't?).
:Tons of unlockable character options.
:Crazy amounts of enemies on screen, not to mention blood by the gallons. And it runs smooth as butter.
:Addictivly simple game play.
:Demented sense of humor.
Cons: :Single Player can be beaten in one setting (it took me an hour or two, with unlocking everything).
:Controls are decent, but they could be better. The movement/aiming interface is a little weird, but it works.
:The environments all look the same.
:The single player AI is completely stupid. I failed the last mission 3 times because of how ignorant the NPCs are.
:There aren't more original games like this for the PSP?
Reviewer's Comments
Infected revolves around a simple idea: move, shoot, kill, repeat. The game play hardly diverges from this concept, however, that doesn't mean it's shallow. Linking together enemies in blood-chain combos is exhilarating; seeing 20 zombies blow up IN THE AIR at the same time is amazing. Wi-Fi play is a blast if you have access to it. However, I've found people just disconnect before you "infect" them with your avatar. Thats not the game developers fault though. Overall, it's not quite as good as other shooters on the system, as its single player portion leaves a lot to be desired(SOCOM is still one of the best), but it's still worth a look, seeing as it's one of the first games (besides Lumines) on the PSP to establish it's own brand of unique game play.
