Back a while ago, i played soul reaver, asa violent oddity(and my first m-rated game) and thought it was pretty boring, but fun.Then i bought blood omen, which was okay. I forgot about the series, and was overjoyed when this was out. Downright awesome in so many ways its easy to forgive its problems. (also note that tyhe best part is the almost coreographed-seeming combat, which makes you feel like it's your own created combos every battle)
